The engines aren't the only additions of the Sodor family. There's also plenty of rolling stock, from faithful coaches to troublesome trucks.

Coaches.jpg picture by UnluckyTug06

The coaches are the females of the large variety of rolling stock, which may tend to complain, but are always faithful to their engine.

AnnieClarabel.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Annie and Clarabel are Thomas's pair of coaches, recieving them along with his branchline after rescuing James from a dreadful accident. They are non-corridor suburban coachs, though Clarabel is a brake coach which means she takes the guard. The two are very close with the Guard, and sulked when Thomas accidentally left him behind at the Station once before. Though Annie and Clarabel are old and dusty, Thomas still sees them to be Really Useful. Occasionally other engines take them and they don't mind and enjoy talking to a new face. They become greatly upset when they are insulted and get very huffy. They also respect the bigger engines and don't like Thomas being cheeky and have to keep him in order.

henrietta.jpg picture by Duckfan8 Henrietta is one of Toby's coaches, and is a Wisbech tramway coach. She worked right behind Toby on his old branchline back in the Mainlands, often complaining about not being full as she once was. Henrietta is old and worn, and if it weren't for The Fat Controller, she would have been turned into a henhouse! She hates having to leave Toby's side and loves to feel useful. She quickly befriended Victoria.

OldSlowCoach.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Old Slow Coach wa once a beautiful clerestory brake coach from the Great Western Railway. But when she was of no use, she was sent to the scrapyards where she sat beside the sidings, her only visitors being the mice. Thomas and Percy found her one day, and at last saved her when the workmen needed a new hut after their original burned down. Old Slow Coach doesn't look very old anymore, and has now been beautifully restored, inside and out. She doesn't mind being called old or slow, and was delighted in being the "Something Old" in a wedding good luck package.

EmilysCoaches.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 These are Emily's Coaches, painted with an emerald livery to match Emily's paintwork. When they arrived, Thomas thought they were replacing Annie and Clarabel as Emily was taking the two. However, they were intended for Emily and recieved them after saving Thomas and Oliver from a dreadful crash. Unlike the other branchline coaches, each coach has three bogies making them extra special.

Trucks.jpg picture by UnluckyTug06

The trucks and brakevans are needed for any goods train on Sodor. Some trucks and vans cause trouble, while others are more well behaved.

tsts.jpgThe Troublesome Trucks are some of the naughtiest charecters on Sodor. They constantly cause trouble, bumping engines, holding back trains, breaking couplings and causing accidents. They never seem to learn their lesson and continue to cause trouble. They are used when engines want to be pushed or pulled, or they want them to spread rumours. Occasionally the trucks behave and can be useful, and rarely ask the engines to assist them. They have been shown to only get revenge on the engines when they bump them first. But the constant crashes and accidents cause the trucks to be horribly damanged and they usually aren't repaired and just get replaced. The trucks came in all sizes: coal trucks, hoppers, vans, wagons, cattle trucks, slate trucks, flatbeds, low loaders and many more. They are also very talented singers and usually make up rude songs about whoever is pulling them or someone who is in a bad mood.

Toad.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Toad is a brave piece of rolling stock, always looking out for the others. He is a GWR standard 20 ton brakevan originally belonged to Oliver back on the Great Western Railway, but after being bought and restored by The Fat Controller, Oliver gave Toad to Douglas for saving them from scrap. Toad is very polite, and addresses each engine by "Mr." or "Mrs." He is still loyal to Oliver and helped him out when the trucks were being rude. Oliver takes him occasionally and the poor brakevan usually gets involved in Oliver's drama, including going on a runaway and derailing onto a snowy patch.

Scruffey.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Scruffey is a rude privately owned seven plank mineral wagon and loves singing and teasing engines. After Oliver fell into the turntable well, he led the other trucks into singing rude songs to him, and wouldn't silence. But Oliver tought him a lesson one day when Toad's plan backfired. Scruffey was pulled in half, and only because his frames weren rotten and he had bad wood. He got his name from a private company, S.C.Ruffey. He was put back together but never caused any more trouble.

SpitefulBreakvan.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Though he didn't really have a name, everyone referred to him as The Spiteful Breakvan. He has a crude sense of humor and leads the trucks in trouble. He believed that Donald and Douglas were no good when they first arrived, and often put them down and caused Douglas' trains to be late. Though one day when James was unable to pull heavy goods train due to the van, Douglas was a back engine and accidentally showed the breakvan just what he and his twin were made of - by smashing him to pieces. It is unknown if he was rebuilt. He was a LNER Standard Brakevan and had NW painted on him, standing for North Western.

2Hector.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Hector had no bad intentions, but to Thomas, Bill, Ben and Rosie, was one scary hopper. Hector wouldn't allow Thomas to shunt him, and would roar loudly "Keep Away!" to frighten him. But after a bad derailment, Hector confessed he was only like so because he was uncertain about being filled with coal. He soon found out it wasn't scary at all, and is now a good friend to the engines. Hector also has a good sense in direction and giving advice, though some engines ignore him as he is only a truck. HECTOR stands for Heavily Engineered Coal Truck On Rails

This is a category for the special and unique rolling stock that graces the lines of Sodor.

Rocky.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 Rocky is the largest railway crane the Island has ever known. He is painted a dark red with caution stripes on the back of him. When first arriving, Gordon and Edward thought him nothing but a "new fangled nonsense" and a waste as an engine must take him, which hurt his feelings. But when Gordon got into an accident, both he and Edward realised just important Rocky is to the railway. He works with either Harvey or Edward and is always willing to help out following an accident.

BreakdownTrain.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 The Breakdown Train played important roles in the early years of Sodor. Ever since Harvey and Rocky arrived, it's been stored in its shed unless needed for huge tasks. Back in 1946, James had gotten into a terrible accident, and Thomas took quick action and brought the Breakdown Train too him, which put James back on the rails in no time. It was seen again after major accidents, like Henry and the Flying Kipper and James and the Tar Wagons.

ChineseDragon.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 The Chinese Dragon was a special piece for the parades on Sodor in 1991. He was to be taken by Thomas, in which Thomas found a good chance to scare Percy one night. The Dragon is made of paper, covered in lights and has hydraulics that make it dance, and is often used at the funfairs.

jetengine.jpg image by UnluckyTug06 This modern piece of rolling stock is The Jet Engine. It was originally a piece for an airplane liner, which Thomas was to deliver. But Cranky whacked the switch and set if off, it pushed Thomas along the track as fast as a jet. It's an amazement that Thomas' wheels didn't melt at the pace he was going! It ran out of fuel and was delivered.
